Up until the moment they broke up in 2003, Carissa's Wierd meant a lot to a lot of people. The Seattle outfit had been jerking tears in the Pacific Northwest for several years with their awesome blend of emo folk (not corny at all), one that struck a chord in that corner of the country specifically. You'll hear more from us on that soon enough. Today we're sharing the first mpfree from Hardly Art's forthcoming, deluxe reissue of the Carissa catalogue, They'll Only Miss You When You Leave: Songs 1996-2003. It's named "Die" and though it's more anguished than we remember, it's just as pretty.
