If you’ve ever been to New York City, chances are pretty good you’ve heard Hypnotic Brass Band, the sprawling group of brothers—sons of the legendary Philip Cohran—who play in Union Square, on the subway, anywhere. In the past year or two, they’ve retired from their street serenades to focus on recordings. Their new EP Heritage is comprised of covers—Art of Noise, Jay-Z, Fela Kuti and, maybe most fittingly, Outkast. “Spottieottiedopalicious,” from Aquemini, is one of Andre and Big Boi’s most classic songs, based on horn bombast that Hypnotic Brass quadruple with their big numbers. Check out the song below and pray you get to hear it in the streets.

Yes. Hear it often in the subway at 42nd St / Grand Central. Suddenly, the commute is better…
My head just exploded. But they’re not going by Ensemble anymore?
Haha! Lovin’ it!
I didn’t get a chance to hear them last time I was in New York but perhaps, I can catch them on my next go round (when I’m not too sure, but I’ll make it happen)
