We Risked Life and Limb to Film Gucci Mane Last Night

August 20, 2010

When Gucci Mane performed a secret show at Nike Stadium in New York last night, we were determined to FlipCam his performance come hell or highwater. We found ourselves amid a hurricane of violent and sweaty men who were so pumped they were literally moshing, but despite having arm fatigue and being jostled (not to mention being accidentally boob-grabbed several times by a ponytailed bouncer), WE ACCOMPLISHED OUR GOAL. War wounds: stiff neck, small cut on foot. It was all worth it for Gucci, a mushmouthed star who powered through all the hits in a short 25 minute set—including "Lemonade" and a much-discussed, Waka Flocka-free "Hard in the Paint"—with an unexpected bumbling charm. Above, he plays "Wasted" to a crowd of mostly dudes who were, in fact, white boy wasted. After the jump, watch "Freaky Gurl," for which Lil Kim made a surprise appearance to rap and rep tiny people.
