Radiohead Keeps Giving Things Away for Free

radiohead

Radiohead is a lot like Brooklyn: walk around long enough and you can fill your entire entertainment center with shit you got from the street (the internet). The latest in their web-based altruism: a DVD of their performance in Prague during last year’s In Rainbows tour. Compiled by 50 fans armed with FlipCams, the footage was later compiled and edited into this spastic but beautiful piece, not just a document but an example of REALTIME INTERNET DEMOCRACY, Y’ALL. They should have uStreamed it! You can either download it (very slowly) and burn it from this website, or just watch it song by song in these slightly more convenient YouTube clips. Actually, if you’re going to download and burn it, can you let us know in the comments why you are doing that? Because we have already accumulated a bunch of stuff for our entertainment center (see: Brooklyn) and are kind of addicted to the convenience of streaming. Anyway, watch “The Gloaming” after the jump, it sounds great. (via Consequence of Sound)

Amazing. Just goes to show that you give can do things differently in the music industry and still be successful. These guys would do great if they signed up to a fan/crowd funding label, Radiohead fans are more than happy to support their work.
