About her mix for Dummy, Laurel Halo says, "The mixtape is a blend of edits—some of my favorite techno jams with moments of delay and overall positive vibes. It’s loosely oriented around Detroit techno but also features newer tunes from Farben, Oni Ayhun, Greena and more. I was inspired by images of Manchester’s B of the Bang in the process of being removed, looking like this severed rusty asteroid…" B of the Bang was a giant public work that looked like an exploding asterisk. Then it got problems so it came apart. This mix, centered around the sandier side of drum machines, has sounds of Detroit, India, space, all glommed into some extended third eye techno swami shit.
