Explorers Series: Red Bucket Films

November 24, 2010

For the fourth installation of our Belkin Explorers Series, we took a trip down to the Red Bucket Films headquarters—a fort-like construction that our nine year-old selves would have loved. Heck, our twenty-something-selves love it anyways. But that's what's so great about these dudes, brothers Josh and Benny Safdie—their ability to remove the addled adult blinders that the rest of us have developed after many years of city living. The Buttons project is a unique example of that, a collection of on-the-street videos shot on small cameras. They are short but poignant, and range from a man lugging laundry to an oversized child on a playground. Benny Safdie explains the science behind capturing moments like these in the above video.
