Waka Flocka Flame and Giggs, “Gangsta Hop” MP3

January 19, 2011

Never has Giggs sounded more British than when on the same track as Waka Flocka. The UK rapper has long wanted to bridge the gap between Atlanta and London, so much so that on his first single for XL, "Don't Go There", he let BOB start the track. That collaboration was more seamless, BOB's singsong easily integrated as the chorus. But Giggs' linking with Waka is a bombastic mettle-proving move, and way more successful than American MTV's so-far botched diplomatic-take on beloved British export Skins. In a bid to eliminate delineations like "rap" and "grime," they coin the new genre "gangsta hop," which, as Waka explains, is how "gangstas rock." Pretty simple. Then Giggs shouts out True Religion jeans. Which is awesome. "Gangsta Hop" is from Giggs' upcoming mixtape Take Your Hats Off.
