How many years have we been dreaming of Henrik Vibskov? How many successive seasons have we wanted to fill our closets with his gear? Seems like forever ago that former Style Editor Chioma Nnadi wrote a lengthy feature professing her love. At that time, the prospect of la-la-land Vibskov opening a store in New York seemed impossible, his glorious weirdness too wild for Soho retail. But since then, Vibskov's name and reputation has grown in the United States, and he's finally warranted a store right on Broome Street. Nuzzled against more obvious retail queens Kate Spade and Catherine Malandrino, the outpost opened last Friday to great fanfare. Vibskov himself flew in for the occasion and FADER contributor Abdoul Diallo got a chance to interview him. Check it out.
