To highlight the clothes currently inhabiting our fantasy wardrobe, we've teamed up with vitaminwater and asked The FADER's extended family of photographers, stylists and models to pool their talents and showcase some of the best threads around. Each Styled by FADER will feature a different brand's collection of the season that sits at the top of our most-wanted list. This week, we bring you Publish. Click through the slideshow to see more photos from the shoot and to read our thoughts about the brand.

When asked to describe the ethos of Publish, Creative Director Michael Hunyh skips over particular genre tags like "streetwear" or "heritage-inspired." Spoken like a true laidback Californian, only one word comes to Hunyh's mind. "It's casual," he says, "I like to call Publish 'casual menswear.'" Some brew of salt water, car exhaust and high sun has given Los Angeles its easy mood, and Hunyh grew up worshipping the brands that outfitted surfers and beach-dwellers around the coast. "I wore Gotcha and OP," he explains. "The same brands my dad wore. Those are the vibes I loved. "

Hunyh brings a sense of ease to his sometimes volatile chemistry of patterns, braving some pretty wild prints (a tough sell for many dudes) and tempering them with minimal styling and solid detailing. "You can push boundaries without being overbearing, without losing your tone," he says. "The idea is to still capture masculinity. If you are wearing Publish's leopard pants, we'll give you other pieces to make you feel confident." Intricate designs and animal prints are softly washed and rendered with subtle coloring. It's a courageous look for a men's street brand, no doubt, but it's adventurous and done in the way L.A. knows best—without breaking too much of a sweat.
