Tyler, the Creator Loses His Shit Over VMA Nominations

July 21, 2011

Guess who's having the best year ever? In less than twelve months, Tyler, The Creator got a record deal, released an album, met Justin Bieber, collaborated with his idols and has now been nominated for two VMAs—Best New Artist and Video of the Year for his self-directed "Yonkers" clip. In the race for Video of the Year, "Yonkers" is up against the Beastie Boys' "Make Some Noise", Adele's "Rolling in the Deep", Katy Perry's "Firework" and Bruno Mars' "Grenade." Tyler's pretty excited about the latter. Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Foster the People and Kreayshawn will compete for Best New Artist.

Tyler took to Twitter last night to deliver a caps-locked barrage of thank-yous, WTFs and threats. Preview some of its lucid moments, below. Kanye West, nominated for seven VMAs this year, expressed his support via retweet (sorry, Wiz). You can vote here.
