Max Glazer wrote the first-ever FADER feature (in issue #1, about Funk Master Flex). He used to DJ for a little pop star called Rihanna. But the dude never produced his own dancehall riddim until this year. Recently, Glazer sent some songs on that
mid-tempo riddim—called Flatlands—to twelve producers and got back twelve super-varied remixes. DJ Nick Catchdubs’ remix of Doggy takes the poppy tune in a completely different and super distorted direction. Out in NYC, Catchdubs usually sticks to hip hop party tracks, but he says he's been raving while touring out of town with Crookers, playing rabid house to crowds of suburban dubstep fans. This is his spin on that scene. Download it below, and stream all songs from the Flatlands remix project here.
