Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N Roses Welcomed Into Rock Hall of Fame

December 07, 2011

'80s and '90s dude icons Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys will be inducted into Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, along with dreamy British longhair Donovan, Bronx-born Laura Nyro, the Small Faces (bka the Faces, when Rod Steward joined) and Texas guitarist Freddie King. This year's voters—a pool of 500 musicians, critics and industry professionals—passed over rap pioneers Eric B. and Rakim, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and the Cure. The induction ceremony will air on HBO in May. Celebrate the canonization of Generation X with a collection of Beasties, RHCP and GNR memories, below.
