Cormega f. Action Bronson, Roc Marciano and Saigon, "Mars" MP3

Hip-hop supergroups are seldom more than the sum of their parts, and sometimes not quite that. But this one should easily get points for thematic consistency, with each actor playing a slight variation on a classic New York rapper archetype. Cormega gets away with the most affecting verse here, his vocals always seeming to imply much more than their literal meaning, as if he were channeling the weight of Queensbridge's history. "Mars" was produced by the legendary Large Professor. It's comfort food for heads who remember a time before "backpacker" was a diss.
