Video: Pepperboy f. Temolja and Blackberry, “One Life”

March 15, 2012

Little Rock, Arkansas' beacon of "reality rap," Pepperboy, has released a video for "One Life," arguably his most mass-appeal-ready song to date, thanks in large part to a gruff and uplifting hook by Temolja, sounding a bit like Ja Rule on "Always on Time." As usual with Pepperboy (see other exemplars here and here), the video is a thing to behold, produced in the most captivating style of do-it-yourself hip-hop, featuring Impact font overlays and the artist in changing hairstyles from tight braids to luscious curls, then limping on crutches through a cemetery. Currently, the most thumbed-up YouTube comment on "One Life" comes by way of Pepperboy's tireless supporter, Lil B, whose Bitch Mob song "My Life" goes over Pepperboy's "Tha Parts. Pepperboy returned the honor on his latest EP, Veteran, rapping over B's "Unchain Me." Veteran is out now and downloadable for free at Pepperboy's Bandcamp.
