Frank Ocean’s lone solo cut from Odd Future’s upcoming OF Tape Vol. 2 has been bouncing around the internet in advance of the record’s release next week. A delicate, sparse Rhodes provides the only accompaniment for Ocean’s voice over the first 90 seconds, letting him rise triumphantly to fill the space of the song. It’s pained and reflective:
I forget 23 like I forget 17
And I forget my first love like you forget a daydream
And what if all my wild friends and the times I’ve had with them
Will all fade to gray soon on the TV station.
OF Tape Vol. 2 comes out March 20th via the collective’s record label; their Adult Swim show, Loiter Squad, supposedly debuts on the 25th.
