There’s something in the tenor of Big Baby Gandhi’s rapping that demands attention. The Queens-bred rapper, signed to Greedhead Music, imbues his rhymes with a sense of urgency, whether he’s getting political as he does on “Lurkin,” or dissing his haters by comparing them to Coldplay. Producer Hot Sugar’s beat is a weird, bouncy number. Sort of a Bollywood take on the shimmering menace that characterized early-2000′s Beatminerz productions. Gandhi splits verses here with his fellow Greedhead artist Fat Tony. “Lurkin” will appear on NO1 2 LOOK UP 2, Gandhi’s upcoming mixtape.
