It’s a point of fact right now that we’ve reached some sort of internet remix saturation point. It’s like not a single song can exist without a selection of alternate interpretations. In the right hands, this is amazing, in the wrong hands (or sloppy hands, or lazy hands), it just comes off as unnecessary. The jittery, but somehow also anthemic Battles put together an expertly selected compilation of remixes though. Below you can stream a dusky disco remix from Gui Boratto, a seething take on “Sweetie and Shag” from The Field, a sterile version of “Toddler” from Kangding Ray and much more. Where else are you gonna get Gang Gang Dance next to Alchemist next to Hudson Mohawke next to Kode9? Probably a lot of people’s iTunes playlists. But still! Great job Battles.
