We’ve heard soca star Machel Montano’s version of Dre Skull’s new Loudspeaker riddim, “Go Down,” and now here’s “The System,” another rendition of the riddim from Portmore Empire supporting character turned fast-rising dancehall star, Popcaan. The track is a departure from feel-good singles like “Party Shot” and “Only Man She Want” that Popcaan has filled the dancehall market with since the arrest of his mentor, Vybz Kartel, addressing the trials of Jamaican youth in the face of bureaucracy.
