Often, Arca’s music is jittery and fragmented. There's a cohesive line throughout some of his tracks, but it can be hard to find. It's what makes his music so compelling, but it's also what makes it difficult. Maybe that's why "Manners" feels like such a shock. Over an echoed synth stab, the song drifts rather than fidgets, glides instead of bounces. It's one of the prettier moments on Arca's recently releases Stretch 2, and now it's got an equally pretty video directed by Jesse Kanda. Besides featuring lots of pretty shapes (feel free to insert your personal favorite iTunes visualizer joke here), it also takes us deep into the cold blue of space for a weirdly calming finish.
