Billowing through the airwaves this afternoon on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 program was Animal Collective‘s “Crimson,” a non-album track that plays up Avey Tare’s rapturous pipes, accentuated by slow winds and warping instrumentals. The track will be available digitally and on 12-inch on November 11th via Domino Records, and will be released as the B-side to the group’s forthcoming single, “Applesauce.” For more on Animal Collective’s current album, Centipede Hz, check out By the Numbers, featured in FADER #81.
