Mark Fell aka Sensate Focus is obsessed with patterns. Not just adhering to them, but deconstructing them and stretching them. Here, he kind of sort of remixes Heatsick's "Déviation," creating rhythm out of glitchy buzz and rounded synths stretched so thin that they sound like taut wires. It is at times a difficult listen—there's a buzz late in the track that might be a turnoff for some people, but taken as a whole it's an expertly crafted piece of music, pulling sterile sounds from their natural environment into a rough world of off kilter handclaps and springy sound effects.
