Stream: Antwon, “Dark Denim (Sombear Remix)”

June 26, 2013

Antwon has a gift for making filthy-fun-times rap songs with people who don't usually produce rap—Pictureplane, WALSH, Cities Aviv. This new remix, with a late-night desperation evocative of "Blinded by the Lights," welcomes another newcomer to the genre: Sombear aka Bradley Hale, the drummer for one of my secret favorite bands, Now, Now, who has so far been making his name in his band's general alt-rocky lane, most recently with an official remix for Tegan and Sara. His take on the Oakland rapper's last release comes as a sort of teaser for Antwon's next, a fantastic two-track 7-inch on Suicide Squeeze—"Dying in the Pussy" and "Life Is What You Make It"—out July 16th on black and white marbled vinyl.
