Stream: Years & Years, "You & I"

This past August, London synth-pop five-piece Years & Years dropped the very ecstatic-sounding, house-inspired "Traps." In time for the single's release on Kitsuné this week, the group just unveiled this ticking bomb of a b-side, which takes a snail-slow snare and fills in all the empty space with washes of warming synth. It's a sparse enough backdrop to really showcase the soulful falsetto of lead singer Olly Alexander, which alternates between wistful breathiness and jazz-like precision with an ease that may have something to do with his background as an actor (dude recently starred alongside Judy Dench in the West End show Peter & Alice, and has also appeared in Skins and Enter the Void).
