Seems cool to just unabashedly make chillwave—like, for The Soft to produce new music that sounds like the music that people called "chillwave" without regard for whether the style is in vogue. The UK trio is probably even annoyed that I brought that up, but, to me, the churning, swampy drums and sleepy vocals of "Twitch" only sound better in defiance. Agh, just feels so good to type again: chillwave. The song is a digital-only bonus cut off The Soft's Uncanny Valley EP, out now via Ceremony.
