Time to retire those Free Boosie tees and beanies! The Bad Azz Baton Rouge-rapper -- real name Torrence Hatch -- was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary where he's passed the last five years earlier this evening, Warden Burl Cain confirmed with WAFB Channel 9. He will serve out the rest of his sentence (until 2018) on parole.

Boosie was incarcerated in 2009 for a third-offense marijuana possession charge, and his stay was extended when he got caught attempting to smuggle drugs into prison. In 2012, he faced an additional murder charge but was found not guilty. He'll speak for the first time since he was sentenced at a press conference organized by Atlantic Records in New Orleans on Monday.
