FADER PREMIERE

NY-based producer/songwriter Suzi Analogue put a house-y twist on FADER favorite Kelela's "Go All Night," sneaking in a razor-sharp sample of R&B quartet Xscape's "Who Can I Run To." The hearty haaaaaaan harmonizing that opens both tracks bridges Xscape's 90s R&B piano keys with P. Morris's production and Kelela's subdued vocals (are we allowed to say that a pitched-down Kels sounds a little bit like Sade? No, no we're not). The remix thumps along with muted presence--the kind of 2AM transition a DJ might throw on between drinks--but Suzi gets props for connecting dots across decades.
