"So good to be in love!" wrote one commenter on the Soundcloud stream of "Soft As Rain," the first single from Dan Bodan's forthcoming album on DFA Records. It's impossible not to get swept up in the song's gentle endorphin rush—that mix of joy and relief that comes from loving and being loved after a long time in the wilderness. We knew the GEN F alumni was headed for big things but "Soft As Rain" sounds like a love song that took a long hard look at itself in the mirror and let go of a lot of baggage. Produced by NYC's Great Skin, it's fresh-faced and timeless all at once. I want to hear it on late night taxi rides home in years to come, calling out into the night air with memories of past embraces. DFA will release Bodan's debut album Soft in October.
