Northern Califonia’s Molia releases a party sounds for an ever-expanding genre

It's official: R&B's various new sub-genres and disparate styles have started earning their own titles. Molia's "Too Late" captures one of those tiny waves with the descriptor "RnBass," where 808s thump and party vibes are abundant. The beat, produced by Dreem Teem and Kevin Armani, trades in sparse kicks and claps of "I'm Different" or "Rack City" for ratchet-and-clank drums lifted from Cassidy's "I'm A Hustla." It's a more close sibling of Tinashe's Top 40 hit "2 On," with a fresh focus: putting the pause on a guy that is groveling back her way. Bubblegum with some flavor.
