Whispered R&B with just the right hint of big-time pop.

FADER PREMIERE

Kwamie Liv comes out the gate a master of whispered R&B with her debut EP, Lost in the Girl, out today and streaming below in its entirety. Her bio notes past hometowns in Denmark, Zambia, Turkey, Sweden, South Africa, Kenya, Ireland and Bangladesh—imagine the frequent flyer miles—but the setting for Lost in the Girl could be anywhere with the lights low and flashes of strobe. The first track she ever shared, "5AM," still hits me the hardest with its understated swoon, while cuts like the waltzy, off-kilter title track and "Paper Planes"-reminiscent "Comin Thru" offer just enough upbeat for you to get your kicks out before you fall back into bed.
