Nas Premieres “The Season” Produced By J Dilla

Nas floats over Jay Dee, and all feels right with the world.

October 30, 2014

At Killer Mike and El-P's celebration of their Run The Jewels 2 release in Brooklyn, Nas surprised fans and took the stage to salute the duo and premiere a loose cut called "The Season." Over the patented J Dilla horns of "Gobstopper," Nas is in full God's Son mode, spitting velvet flows about the labor of grown man rap and defending his pen against accusations of Jay Electronica ghostwriting. Ear candy for your real rap sweet tooth, we're praying for a CDQ soon. For more on Dilla, read our Beat Week conversation with Maureen "Ma Dukes" Yancey.

UPDATE: Our prayers have been answered. Nas liberates the full stream, and it's as chunky as we'd hoped.
