Little Pain Premieres “Marceline”

An Adventure Time-inspired love song, and a new album next month.

November 20, 2014

Little Pain—if not the original Tommy Strawn, then at least his second coming—just sent along the second track from his second project, an album called L.I.T.T.L.E., out December 4th. The cover art and tracklist are debuting below, along with a new song, "Marceline." Part Cartoon Network-inspired fantasy, part real life, part where-is-the-line-anyway, "Marceline" is a new sound for the Brooklyn rapper, who's so far stuck to Suicideyear-like electronic sludge; Nik Nikateen produced it, guitar sounding like a sunnier, better day in '03. "Marceline's like a gothic vampire queen," Pain says, confirming it's really about Marceline. "The song's inspired by her. I just fuck with gothic. I just like gothic stuff."

Key lyric:

My life's a nightmare but you're the woman of my dreams…
I love it when you come around
We pout and mope around the town
That's because you're my gothic bae

THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE MY GOTHIC BAE!

Check the forthcoming guest features below: Wiki, Kool A.D., Michael Christmas, Antwon and more. Beats by Skywlkr, Friendzone, Issue, Michael Uzowuru, Drip-133, Pat Lukens, Melo Flamez.
