Float Away On This “Weightless” Tune From Grime Dream-Team Mumdance, Logos And Rabit

The grime producers inaugurate their new label with “Inside The Catacomb.”

November 22, 2014

London producers Mumdance and Logos recently teamed up to launch the brand new imprint Different Circles, which makes a whole lot of sense: taking their cues from the spaciousness of original grime production, both artists work in a realm of glacial, almost beatless dance music. They've coined the term "weightless" to describe the genre they drift within, and have recruited Texan Rabit for the label's lead track (taken from the compilation Weightless Volume One), "Inside The Catacomb." Like tentative footsteps taken in an actual catacomb, it's forceful and yet cut through with wobbles of fear: gasps and snatches of laughter ricochet against the track's metallic walls, as a voice repeatedly drones no I haven't figured it out. Weightless Volume One is out now, and features even more celestial contributions from Murlo, Dark0 and Inkke.
