Revel In The Dark Side With Purple Ferdinand’s “Loving The Hate”

The rising UK artist will release her Lovebound EP this February.

There's a really good RBMA interview with experimental musician/recording engineer Rashad Becker where at one point he mentions that he doesn't understand what people mean when they say they can hear different temperatures in music. If you don't find yourself agreeing with him, this new tune by London-based artist Purple Ferdinand, called "Loving The Hate," would be as good a track as any to launch a counterargument with.

Its gauzy production drifts through my headphones like thick humidity, offering a nostalgia-tinged stylistic backing for the song's theme of acceptance. "'Loving The Hate' is like twisted acceptance; accepting hurtful experiences, words and situations and growing an unnatural love for it," Ferdinand explained to The FADER via email. "Taking it as fate and continuing without questioning the more darker side of relationships we can find ourselves in." Have a listen to the track below, and look out next month for its release on Purple Ferdinand's Lovebound EP, due February 16th.
