Amnesia Scanner are a Berlin-based, Janus-affiliated act who make sonically extreme cyborg music. For those of us that couldn't get enough of their 100% crucial "AS LIVE [][][][][]" Soundcloud set from last year, the fact that they've got a new release on Gum Artefacts (who put out that wonderful Frenemies set by Felicita last year) is amazing news. For a first official release, a fifteen-minute radio play is an unconventional choice, but Angels Rig Hook is quite the trip: a tender yet brutal narration of the technofuture that is the present. The entirety of the text, composed by Helsini and Berlin-based artist Jaakko Pallasvuo, is available to read on the track's Soundcloud page, but here's a snippet to wet your palate: "We're gonna take everything before we secess. We need more weapons. Hi-speed Wi-Fi provided by drones is a given. Arab money in ciphered currencies. Treasure island. Buccaneers and buried gold." Stream the radio play below, and be sure to get a copy of its physical release as a one-of-a-kind, sketched dubplate via Gum.
