Dilly Dally’s “Gender Role” Is Sexy In A Not-So-Obvious Way

The Toronto-based punks premiere a loud, unkempt new song.

April 02, 2015

Dilly Dally goes all types of crazy on their latest single. According to vocalist Katie Monks, "Gender Role" unfolds is like an argument she's having with herself. "Lots of the lyrics are sexual fantasies that push and pull against different gender stereotypes," Monks told FADER over email. "Every time we play it live, the lyrics change slightly - I can't control them." That instinctual quality results in a loud, unkempt punk song that could very well be as cathartic to listen to as it is for Dilly Dally to perform. After recently adding Benjamin Reinhartz on drums and Jimmy Tony on bass, the lawless studs are fully recharged and laboring over their debut full-length; stream the rowdy "Gender Role" below while you wait.
