Shallou Gives CRUISR’s “Go For It” A Vibe-y Rework

The New Orleans producer chills out the perky electro-pop number.

Shallou has given CRUISR's perky and bright electro-pop jam "Go For It" a diffuse, vibey reworking, kind of like the sonic equivalent of stepping out of the hot beaming sun and into the warm summer shade. In an email to The FADER, the New Orleans-based producer described his edit as a "hopeful, epic arrangement. I love changing the emotional context of a song when I'm remixing. The original is an upbeat summertime track, and I wanted to add another layer to it."

The Philly crew are happy with the results. "One thing we love about Shallou is how great he is with textures, and you can really hear that in the remix," CRUISR's Andy States explained. "He was able to transform pieces of our arrangement and create entirely new sounds from existing parts. It took the song to a different world emotionally, but the result is seamless." See for yourself below. And for more CRUISR, check them out in the flesh when they hit the road with Bleachers and Joywave in June; see those dates here.
