Busy Signal And Stylo G Link On Cadenza’s Reggae Anthem, “Foundation”

Summer’s here.

May 14, 2015

Jamaican heavyweight and former FADER cover star Busy Signal links with UK reggae artist Stylo G for the first time on London producer Cadenza's "Foundation." It's Real Rock/ Well, this is how we rock, says Stylo, a reference to the popular 1967 riddim that the track samples, setting the scene for this match made in sun-drenched heaven.

"I had the original idea for this record years ago when I was an intern at Geejam Studios in Portland, Jamaica," Cadenza told The FADER. "I made the arrangement and then I actually got an a capella of Super Cat's 'Don Dada' and put it on top so i could use it as a DJ tool. Last year, when I finally moved into my own studio [in London], my very first session was with Stylo G, so I pulled up the beat and he was into it straight away. After we cut Stylo's part, I knew Busy had to be on the record so we sent it back to Jamaica, and a day later we had his verse and the record was done." The Full Hundred / SONY will release Cadenza's "Foundation" on August 16th (pre-order it here).
