Get An Invigorating Dose Of Teklife With Taso’s New Compilation

We’re not even halfway through June, but it’s already been a busy month for members of the Teklife crew: Hyperdub announced a posthumous DJ Rashad EP is coming at the end of the month, DJ Manny dropped Tek Files Vol. 2, Taso and Spinn popped up with Jessy Lanza on a new song, and Taso just released Teklife Till Tha Next Life Vol. 2, a new compilation. Next Life Vol. 2’s 11 tracks are split between lone Taso tunes and collaborations with DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, and DJ Manny. “An MPC, a few keyboards, and a bag of weed between friends has long been the environment responsible for the bulk of classic footwork music,” a statement accompanying the release notes. “That’s the same place this compilation comes from.”
