An Army Of Nicki Minaj Cardboard Cutouts Invaded Finland

The Helsinki Cathedral got a Nicki-themed redecoration today.

June 10, 2015

In America, Scandinavia is mostly known for its frigid winters and socially progressive politics. Now you can add Nicki Minaj superfan-dom to the list: someone covered the steps of the Helsinki Cathedral with cardboard cutouts of the single artwork from Minaj’s 2014 smash “Anaconda.”

It turns out, though, that this wasn’t the work of a Minaj-lover who couldn’t wait for her headlining performance at Finland’s Summer Up festival. The stunt was promotional, as each cutout came attached to a free two-day pass to Summer Up. The festival takes place July 3 and 4.
