TeeFlii had some mainstream success last year with the DJ Mustard-produced “24 Hours.” Though Mustard came up in rap, some of his biggest contributions have been in R&B: his beats have helped Ty Dolla $ign, Mila J, Jhene Aiko, Omarion, Jeremih, Justine Skye, and TeeFlii reach wider audiences. “24 Hours” was relentlessly sexual, pairing TeeFlii’s come-ons with one of Mustard’s thickest instrumentals.
The young singer dropped his official debut, Starr, in February; it took him less than six months to craft his latest mixtape, AnnieRuO'TAY 4. (The first volume of the series came out way back in 2012.) TeeFlii hasn’t changed his focus here: check song titled like “F*ck On Me,” “Lapdance,” and “Sex Tape.” “Sex Tape” may be his highest-profile collaboration yet: he connected with Jeremih on the track. This is a savvy move on TeeFlii’s part—aside from Chris Brown, it’s hard to think of a male R&B singer whose been on the charts more frequently than Jeremih in the last 18 months.
