Prince recently released a new song titled "HARDROCKLOVER." His band, 3rd Eye Girl, later confirmed that the track is the lead single from the singer's next full-length, The Hit & Run Album, which is supposedly due out this year. The 3rd Eye Girls added, "Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded—we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army'—this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky."
A new Prince song just appeared on Spotify (which is strange since Prince recently pulled his music off all the streaming services except Tidal). "Stare" is definitely funky, full of explosive slap bass and jubilant horns. The singer is feeling nostalgic here: he references his singles "Kiss" and "Sexy Dancer" before singing, I'd rather let the music talk, while you and me walk into the past. Listen below.
