Jessica Jarrell has already rubbed up against pop titans like Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson—not to mention the Obamas—but the 20-year-old singer is angling to take her place among them with the release of her debut album later this year.
The second single off that project is the hard-stunting "Goldblooded," which today gets an quietly indulgent visual to match: a nearly static shot of Jarrell, lapping in a gold-filled tub high above Downtown L.A. Oh lawdy, lawdy, indeed.
"I feel like people expected me to have a music video with a bunch of people in it and lots of luxury items, considering the lyrics of the song," she explained in an email to The FADER. "Instead, I really wanted to make something more subtle and artistic. The visual perfectly represents what the song means to me."
