Erik Hassle Goes Full-On ‘80s With “Natural Born Lovers”

The Swedish pop-star teams up with Daniel Ledinsky and Stargate.

September 17, 2015

Swedish songwriter and singer Erik Hassle dives deep into the decade of his birth on "Natural Born Lovers," his brand new single premiering on The FADER today. Co-written by Daniel Ledinsky and Stargate, the vivid and very-'80s torch song borrows Prince's falsetto and Michael Jackson's strut. Like The Weeknd's recent work with Max Martin, another superstar Scandinavian songwriter, it sounds like a ready-made chart topper.

"I wrote ‘Natural Born Lovers’ last year in LA in the Westlake studios in a Scandinavian orgy with my boy Daniel Ledinsky and Stargate," Hassle told The FADER over email. "It was the first time I got to work with Stargate and it was a very nice couple of days. The song is about free love, a simple celebration of life!"

Next week, Hassle will hit the road with Tove Lo. Check out those dates below; blast "Natural Born Lovers" above.
