In a clip from the new documentary In My Father's House, rapper and songwriter Rhymefest explains the first time he met Kanye West and how it came to be that he helped shape what would go on to be one of West's greatest songs, "Jesus Walks."

"Somebody gave me a tape, and the tape had this gospel song on it," he says before singing the iconic sample. "It really shook me up, brought me to tears. And I said Kanye, I called him. 'You gotta hear this song.'" Now playing in select theaters, In My Father's House follows Rhymefest as he reconnects with his estranged father and decides to purchase his childhood home in south side of Chicago to raise his family in the same home where he grew up.
