It's unlikely that Timmy Thomas went into 2015 expecting a whole new generation to encounter his early '70s hit "Why Can't We Live Together." But Drake sampled the track for "Hotline Bling"—which currently sits at No. 2 on the Hot 100—and gave Thomas's tune a second life. "I was very proud to listen to what [Drake] had done with it," the singer recently told Spin.

"Hotline Bling" has inspired a steady stream of tributes from other musicians, but DJDS went a different route, choosing instead to remix the sample source. The original "Why Can't We Live Together" is gentle and meandering, but Samo Sound Boy and Jerome LOL push the track towards a focused pulse suitable for dancing. Listen below.
