According to The Line Of Best Fit, Prince is about to head out on a bare bones tour of the U.K. and Europe accompanied only by his trusty piano. He apparently announced the news at a press conference over the weekend. "Why do this now? For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. I do not want to have bad reviews, but... you have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get."

Anyone familiar with Prince's catalog knows he has dabbled in this format before: "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore," a B-side that is one of the star's greatest songs, features little besides Prince and his keyboard. And on the live album One Nite Alone, Prince hammers out the classic "I Wanna Be Your Lover" on the piano.

Prince recently released a new record, HITNRUN, which you can find on Tidal.

He seemingly confirmed the news on Twitter (a rep for Prince did not immediately return a request for comment):
