It's been one year since FADER cover star Zayn Malik announced he's parted ways with the colossal pop group One Direction. Now, the English singer and songwriter has released his debut studio album, Mind of Mine, out now on RCA Records.
Beginning with the release of "Pillowtalk," the first single off Mind of Mine, the project has received significant attention for its departure from the oeuvre of his former group—more attuned to where in life the twenty-three year old is after playing and touring the world. A remix from Lil Wayne materialised shortly after, followed by the next single, "It's You."
Zayn revealed to Beats 1 host Zane Lowe he recorded nearly 50 songs for the album, including one song with R&B singer and fellow FADER cover artist Kehlani. That track, titled "Wrong," has appeared to have made the final cut.
