“One Dance,” Drake's first single from Views From The 6, will reach number one on the Canadian Hot 100 this week, according to Billboard. Hard to believe, but this marks the first ever solo chart-topper from the native Canadian (nope, “Hotline Bling” peaked at number three). Not so surprisingly, “One Dance” is the also the first Canuck number one for the songs guests WizKid and Kyla.

The track has also gone to number one in the UK, another first time for Drake. In the United States, “One Dance” sits at number three after three weeks on the Hot 100. If it takes the top spot, it would become Drake's first solo number one stateside as well.

Could it become the biggest afropop inspired song ever? Read our discussion with professionals in the genre on how they feel about Drake using the sound.
