Earlier this year, singer Kehlani was hospitalized after attempting to take her own life but since has fully recovered, according to Complex News, and is back on the road to do a small set of shows. During a recent stop on the tour, a fan captured Kehlani pausing her set in order to give a motivational speech about mental health and suicide prevention. The singer revealed it was not the first time she has tried to commit suicide.

"[Suicide and depression are] something that so many young people are dealing with," Kehlani said. "And so many young people slip under the rug. Please don't try it. Don't do it." She then mentioned that she has plans to work with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, advocating for more open discussions on mental health.

"If you have a friend and they're scaring you a little, just love them. Just hug them, and love them up, and tell 'em that it's good, okay," Kehlani asked of her fans. "And from me to you, you are worth it, you are perfect, you need to be here, you are meant to be here." Watch the full video above.
