Right before Webster Hall announced on Sunday night that Kanye West's pop-up show would be cancelled, Kim Kardashian posted a video of Kanye on Snapchat asking someone to call the mayor to ask if he would close off the surrounding blocks so everyone could see the surprise show. Although it was reported this morning that the mayor was never actually reached, it appears West's message got to de Blasio anyways.
It seems like from the tweet above, Mayor de Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray want to make a block party a reality, while making it valuable for the youth of NYC.
A rep for Kanye West was not immediately available for comment.
